Since its founding in 2005, Retaj Food and Grocery Distribution Company has written an inspiring success story that reflects its commitment to innovation and quality. The company began its journey by packing oils for other companies, operating from a small warehouse with a team of just three employees. Since then, Retaj has grown significantly and transformed into one of the leading companies in its field.
Humble Beginnings and Rapid Growth
At the start, Retaj relied on packing oils in tanks using a Jordanian-made production line. Despite the limited storage capacity of 160 tons at the time, the company achieved remarkable expansion. Today, Retaj's storage capacity has increased to 2,000 tons, with ongoing projects to build tank bases to accommodate an additional 3,000 tons.
Significant Infrastructure and Production Developments
Over time, Retaj acquired fully automatic machines for producing tanks and gallons, increasing production efficiency to 10 tons per hour for tanks and 8 tons per hour for gallons. Additionally, the company established a tin factory to purchase plain tin from China and print and shape it internally, enabling the production of various sizes ranging from 4 liters to 18 liters.
Expansion in Space and Warehousing
In terms of infrastructure, the company expanded from owning one dunam of land to 20 dunams spread over four streets. The warehouse space increased from 500 square meters to 6,000 square meters, with ongoing plans to add an additional 3,000 square meters of storage space.
Growth in Distribution Fleet and Production
Retaj has maintained sustainable growth, expanding its distribution fleet to 35 vehicles and using additional singles for cargo loading. Production has also seen a significant increase, with monthly output rising from 200 tons to 2,500 tons, reflecting the substantial expansion of the company's production capabilities.
Expansion in Sales Points and Customer Relations
Retaj now boasts 10,000 points of sale across the Kingdom, including military and civil consumer institutions, malls such as Carrefour, Safeway, and Al-Fareed Yasser Mall, in addition to wholesale and retail traders. The company also supplies its products to major hotels such as Grand East Hotel and the Jordan Armed Forces Hotel, as well as prestigious institutions like the General Intelligence Department, King's Academy, and the University of Jordan.
Increase in Employee Numbers
Retaj Company takes pride in increasing its number of employees from 17 at its inception to approximately 200 currently, reflecting its commitment to providing job opportunities and supporting the local economy of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan.
ISO Certification
